Tyenote’s Corner is posting new short videos online each week in the format of 2 interchangeable series:
Just One Quick Minute
It’s roughly a one minute long (sometimes a tad longer), online series, showcasing original concepts and compositions, some of which are make up right there on the spot.
This one-ish minute concept addresses, with respect, the fleetness of our precious time while being mindful to accommodate our abbreviated attention span.
Just A Little Bit Longer
True to its title, this series adheres to the same concept as “Just One Quick Minute” except for one feature: the tunes run a bit too long to fit the one-ish minute parameters. But longer pieces allow for more exploratory and developed works.
Leaving it up to Chance
When tunes run around in my head, I never really know how they will come out or how they will be received. Sometimes, they turn out pretty good. Other times, not so much. You never know what you’re going to get. There’s even a slight chance that you might hear something that sounds like it could qualify to be on Jimmy Fallon’s “Do Not Play List” 😳.
Currently, there’s no order to when one or the other series will be posted. New videos will appear roughly every week, give or take a few days. The amateur, shoestring budget production is not without the ambition to evolve and improve through the process of trial and error, better options and more generous purse strings. In the meantime, for the foreseeable future, the setting will remain the same cozy, unremarkable location with which some of you are so familiar.

Reap What You Sow
You may have expected a darker, more cerebral or even ponderous tone to this current title, say like, “The Climb”, which was posted a few weeks ago on this site, (you can still find it on my YouTube channel and all my social media platforms). However, you might not anticipate a slightly more upbeat tune. The chorded sequences express the balance of cause and effect. Every decision has a consequence - every action a reaction. What you put in, you get out. All the aphorisms apply. The rhythmic movement represents the metaphorical (or real) sowing of the seeds. The arpeggios represent the reaping of the crop - the bearing of the fruits of one’s labor no matter one’s deeds or misdeeds. Good or bad, positive or negative, the results are laid bare before us. We either celebrate the reward or suffer the fallout.
For those who are Music Theory curious:
Perfect 5ths and a hand full of Perfect 4ths run throughout this piece. In music, a Perfect 5th is an interval consisting of 7 half notes or 3 whole notes that fall within the 1st note (the lowest note in the interval) and the 5th note, (the highest note in the interval.
The Perfect 4th is an inverted Perfect 5th where the interval starts at the higher note and ends at the lowest in the interval.
Perfect 5ths are a fundamental component of music. A stable and pleasant sound to listen to, you’ll find widespread use of this common interval throughout various forms of music and musical context.
